A touring production of "Jekyll and Hyde," the grandiose Broadwaymusical about the battle between good and evil and a science experiment gone horribly awry, will open a six-day run Tuesday in Shea's Performing Arts Center (646Main St.).

The 25-city tour, which launched earlier this month, is winding its way through NorthAmerica before it returns to Broadway next April. The production stars former "American Idol" fan favorite ConstantineMaroulis as the title characters andR&B singer and songwriter Deborah Cox as his much put-upon love interest. Themusical has been significantly revamped since its late '90s Broadway run, with two new songs, a pared-downbook, new arrangements and orchestrations and a new, comparatively minimalist set design. In an interview earlier this month,Maroulis described the retooled show as having a steam-punk sensibility.

Tickets are $32.50 to $67.50 and available at (800) 745-300 or at Ticketmaster.com. Call 847-1410 or visitwww.sheas.org.
