Who?: Buffalo expatriate now working in New York City. Electro-pop/R&B chaunteuse. Singer, dancer, songwriter. Alumnus of Robby Takac’s Amungus.
What?: A new album, “Orange Circle,” is out now. This week, the second video from that album – a collaboration between Kelly and director Bruce Bohman to accompany the tune “Catalyst” – hits the ether. Kelly and her band recently played to a full house at Sullivan Hall in NYC, as part of the yearly CMJ Music Marathon. Kelly and band embark on an eight-city tour of the Northeast in mid-November.
Why?: Kelly crafts smart, sexy and often delightfully quirky electro-pop that never loses its deep-rooted connection to R&B.
