BATAVIA – The public will have its first opportunity Tuesday to learn more about a major food processor that’s coming to town next summer.

The Muller Quaker Dairy Community Meet and Greet will be held from noon to 8 p.m. at Genesee Community College. Representatives from Germany’s Theo Muller Group and partner PepsiCo will be on hand. Samples of Muller yogurt will be available along with information about the new tenant in the Genesee Valley Agri-Business Park on the East Main Street Road, Town of Batavia.

A 363,000-square-foot, $206 million Muller Quaker Dairy Plant is now under construction, the second yogurt maker in the new park for food and beverage processing. Alpina Foods, a South American manufacturer, opened its first U.S. plant a month ago.

The yogurt maker will employ nearly 200 and job resumes will be accepted at Tuesday’s event.
