A Buffalo woman is being held on first-degree robbery charges for her role in the robbery and beating of a cab driver late Wednesday night on Rother Avenue. Her male companion is being sought.

Renee M. Kunselman, 32, was identified by the cabbie. Her companion broke a rear window in the cab and fled after stealing $153 and hitting the cabbie on the back of the head with a handgun. Kunselman then threatened the driver, saying that if he did not unlock the rear door for her, “I am going to have him come back and shoot you.”

She was arrested about 11:30 p.m. at Broadway and Goodyear Avenue by Officer James Whitaker and other officers.

The cabbie told police Kunselman’s accomplice flagged him down as they were both standing at Broadway and Titus Avenue about 11:15 p.m. and asked to be taken to Rother Avenue.
