A Jefferson Avenue man has been arrested for allegedly beating a man with a bat or stick with nails in it during a late-night robbery in the suspect’s house last month, Buffalo Police reported Friday.

Jerome L. Johnson Jr., 33, is being held on a first-degree robbery charge lodged by Officers Frank Gizzo and Angela Yeates for the attack, which happened about 11:15 p.m. Sept. 8. The man’s wedding ring was stolen.

The victim was treated at Veterans Administration Medical Center for multiple bruises and puncture wounds to his arms and legs.
