A 30-year-old Lockport man was charged with robbing another man inside a car in the Town of Wheatfield, according to Niagara County sheriff’s deputies.

The robbery occurred at about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, in a vehicle on Wheatfield-Pendleton Townline Road, deputies said.

Thomas V. Fusco is accused of brandishing what appeared to be a handgun in the process of stealing cash from a Town of Lockport man.

No injuries were reported, deputies said.

Fusco was charged with robbery and false personation. Deputies said the latter charge is related to Fusco misidentifying himself early in the investigation.

Following arraignment before Cambria Town Justice Amel S. Jowdy Jr., Fusco was sent to the county jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
