Two young sisters who attend Iroquois schools remained hospitalized Thursday with injuries suffered a day earlier when their sedan rolled over on Jamison Road in the Town of Elma.
Fire crews had to extricate the girls – a 17-year-old driver and her 12-year-old sister – about 5 p.m. Wednesday, after their car, a 2000 Nissan Altima, crossed over the westbound lane, hit a tree and rolled over onto its roof.
Erie County sheriff’s deputies did not name the girls. Deputies said the driver was taken by Mercy Flight helicopter to Erie County Medical Center, where she was in critical conduction.
Her sister was taken to Women & Children’s Hospital and remained in stable condition Thursday.
The Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash.
