Michael F. Foster, 31, of Buffalo, has been identified as the city’s latest homicide victim. He was shot shortly after noon Tuesday in front of 151 Courtland Avenue near East Delavan Avenue.
Foster was rushed to Erie County Medical Center, unconscious with a chest wound and later died there, police said. A second man, Tyree Sweet, 33, also of Buffalo, was wounded but able to drive himself to ECMC for treatment and later was released.
Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate the shooting.
“The victims had driven to the area in a black Jeep and were outside it when a gunman approached them on foot,” said Detective Chief Dennis J. Richards.
Foster is the city’s 41st homicide victim this year.
