Amherst police arrested a man suspected of burglarizing a Niagara Falls Boulevard mall early Tuesday.
Ronald R. Birdsong, 53, of Buffalo. was charged with felony counts of burglary and criminal mischief, both in the third degree, along with several misdemeanors.
Just after 6 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a commercial burglar alarm at Shenaniganís Bar & Grill on Niagara Falls Boulevard. When they arrived, they found an open front window and evidence indicated someone had gotten inside the bar, police said. Officers discovered that the jukebox was damaged and cash was missing.
Town of Tonawanda Police Offier Michelle Swanick spotted a taxi cab in the area and pulled it over. Amherst officers arrived at the scene and interviewed the passenger, who initially gave a fake name, but ended up being identified as Birdsong.
Birdson was arraigned by Amherst Town Judge Mark Farrell and bail was set at $10,000 cash or $50,000 bond.
