NIAGARA FALLS A city-owned fire hall in the 1100 block of Military Road and a city construction site at 59th Street and Buffalo Avenue reported unrelated thefts of more than $1,000 worth of metal and copper.

Three copper downspouts, valued at a total of $300, were stolen from the south side of the fire station sometime in early October, police reported Tuesday.

Four, six-foot sections of steel piping, valued at $800, were stolen from the city at a construction site on 59th Street and Buffalo Avenue just before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. A witness told police he saw two men in their 50s load the pipe into the rear of a blue truck and drive away.
