A 17-year-old driver and his 12-year-old passenger were both injured Wednesday evening in a one-vehicle rollover crash on Jamison Road in the Town of Elma, Erie County sheriff’s deputies reported.

The teen driver was headed east on Jamison, just east of Ostrander Road, about 5;15 p.m., when the vehicle crossed over the westbound lane and onto some grass, striking a tree and rolling over onto its roof, deputies said.

Jamison Road fire rescue crews extricated the driver and passenger from the vehicle and provided emergency care before the driver was taken by Mercy Flight helicopter to Erie County Medical Center. The driver was in critical condition late Wednesday, deputies said.

The passenger was taken to Women & Children’s Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

The teens were not identified and the crash remained under investigation late Wednesday.
