NIAGARA FALLS – Copper wire, pipe and specialty circuit breakers were stolen in a break-in at the Can Rom plant, in the former Union Carbide building in the 3600 block of Highland Avenue.
The building owner told city police Monday that sometime over the weekend someone smashed a bathroom window to gain entry to the warehouse and took copper wire from circuit breakers in the north end of the building, as well as six 400-amp, three-phase circuit breakers, valued at a total of $5,400. Copper pipe also was stolen from a second building.
The total loss was estimated at $8,400, police reported.
