A Lackawanna man was sentenced to four months in jail for calling in a bomb threat to Cheektowaga Town Court.
John F. Kniery, 51, of Ridge Road, pleaded guilty to aggravated harassment for calling the Cheektowaga court and saying that several pipe bombs were planted in and around the court building.
Kniery acknowledged he was unhappy with the court’s handling of his son’s case in May, according to police. No explosives were found. Detectives used video evidence and phone records to solve the case.
Town Justice Paul Piotrowski sentenced Kniery to four months in the Erie County Correctional Facility.
