A Buffalo man identified by prosecutors as a member of the Bailey Boys Gang has been arrested and charged in connection with a drive-by shooting nearly two years ago on Buffalo’s East Side, U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. announced Monday.
Derrick Ramos, 22, is accused of being one of the gunmen who fired from a van and wounded Philip “Skateboard” Brown and an unidentified second man Dec. 30, 2010 on Sears Street, between Broadway and Paderewski Drive. Brown was wounded in the shoulder and the other man was hit in the upper thigh. Prosecutors said they were believed to be members of a rival gang.
Ramos, who is charged with committing a violent crime in aid of a racketeering enterprise and discharging a firearm as part of that crime, is the ninth person to be charged in an ongoing investigation of the Bailey Boys Gang, Hochul said. One the nine has been convicted.
