Marcus Foligno scored two goals and added two assists and the Rochester Americans rallied from 4-1 and 5-2 deficits to defeat the Hershey Bears, 8-7, in the Giant Center in southern Pennsylvania.
The Amerks scored the last three goals of the second period and, after the Bears took a 6-5 lead in the third, scored three more unanswered goals.
Defenseman TJ Brennan scored twice and added an assist, and Cody Hodgson chipped in three assists for Rochester. Brennan’s second goal tied the score in the third and Foligno’s game the Amerks their first lead. Mark Mancari tacked on a goal that was needed when Hershey scored with less that two minutes remaining.
Luke Adam, Rick Schofield and Evan Rankin also scored for Rochester, which will face the Hamilton Bulldogs on Tuesday night at the First Niagara Center.
Amerks goalie David Leggio of Williamsville gave up seven goals on 39 shots, with three of the goals coming on the power play. Rochester went 4-for-6 with the man advantage.
Foligno leads the Amerks in scoring with eight points in five games, followed by Brennan and Hodgson with seven each.
