NIAGARA FALLS – A Niagara Falls woman suffered a possible broken ankle Saturday night when she was struck by a car in the parking lot of the Tops store on Portage Road.
Esther Paonessa, 78, was walking from her car into the store just after 9 p.m. when she was hit by a car operated by a city woman, police said. The driver, who was in search of parking spot, said she did not see Paonessa until she heard her cry out and saw her fall, police said.
The woman was treated in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, police added. No charges were lodged.
