A motorist found sleeping behind the wheel of an idling car early Friday in Clarence was charged with driving while intoxicated.
Michael P. Donaldson, 21, of Cheektowaga, was discovered by firefighters of the Harris Hall Fire Department, who had been dispatched to the 4600 block of Harris Hill Road, Clarence. Donaldson’s car was blocking the southbound lane of Harris Hill, according to firefighters. When Donaldson attempted to leave the scene, fire personnel removed the keys from the ignition of his car and summoned state police, who later charged Donaldson with DWI, authorities said. A breath test measured a blood-alcohol content reading of .15 percent, police said.
Donaldson is cheduled to appear in Clarence Town Court at 7 p.m. Thursday.
