LOCKPORT – A former assistant manager of the McDonald’s Restaurant in Wrights Corners avoided a prison sentence today because he got a job last week.
Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas said she was going to jail Dustin J. Hall if he had no means of paying back the $17,820 he stole from the restaurant’s till between August 2011 and this past January. Hall, who just landed a construction job, was placed on five years’ probation and ordered to pay at least $300 a month toward the restitution.
Hall, 26, of State Street, Gasport, had pleaded guilty June 12 to fourth-degree grand larceny, saying he used the stolen money to buy gasoline, clothing and to pay other bills.
