Romney has some nerve disavowing 47 percent

I am one of the 47 percenters – an 87-year-old veteran of World War II, two years of which I spent in Europe during 1944 and 1945. I was insulted by Mitt Romney’s statement that we are moochers, as I suppose are thousands of others.
Romney should be ashamed for thinking that, much less saying it to his affluent friends. What Christian leader would disavow 47 percent of his flock? What would Romney and his friends do if all of the 47 percenters disappeared? Who would fight their wars for them?
I am a liberal Democrat and am proud of what the Democratic Party has done for the working class, such as Social Security, Medicare, the GI Bill, a 40-hour work week, the minimum wage and unemployment insurance. I’d like to see the Republican list of accomplishments.
According to a recent Bloomberg News report, approximately 2,400 people in households earning $1 million or more have collected unemployment insurance. Now that is what I call mooching.
My wife and I raised three children, and with government help sent them all to college. We are very proud of them. We love our country. It is the best in the world. I am proud to be an American.
