LOCKPORT – The Common Council was scheduled to conduct a public hearing on the 2013 city budget at tonight’s meeting, but that won’t happen.
City Clerk Richelle J. Pasceri said Tuesday the Council has decided to hold the hearing at 6 p.m. Oct. 30, which was supposed to have been the night for a special meeting to adopt the spending plan. Instead, adoption is now targeted for Nov. 21, Pasceri said.
The Council is interested in talks with city labor unions on concessions that may avoid layoffs, thus the decision to delay the budget process, Pasceri said.
