ALBION – Two town residents have been charged with selling marijuana and prescription narcotics from their home on Albion Eagle Harbor Road.
Randy Wyant Sr. and Janis Fitzwater, both 49, were taken into custody Tuesday after a three-month investigation by three Orleans County units – the Major Felony Crime Task Force, the SWAT team and the Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit – along with the Albion Police Department.
Law enforcers said they executed a search warrant at the home and seized about a pound of high-grade marijuana with a street value of $4,800; a quantity of oxycodone, hydrocodone and diazepam pills with a street value of $2,500; scales and packaging materials; three long guns; and $3,000 in cash.
Wyant was charged with four counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, six counts of third-degree criminal possession and five counts of fifth-degree criminal possession, as well as criminal possession of marijuana and four counts of fourth-degree criminal diversion of medications and prescriptions.
Fitzwater was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal sale and five counts of third-and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of marijuana, and three counts of fourth-degree diversion of prescription medications.
Arraignment was in Town Court by Justice Gary Moore, who ordered Wyant and Fitzwater held after not posting $50,000 and $25,000 bail, respectively, with a return court date of Friday. The investigation was continuing.
