LOCKPORT – A Kenmore man was sentenced Monday to two years in Niagara County Jail on drunken driving and drug possession charges stemming from his Jan. 13 arrest in North Tonawanda.

John B. Semrau, 46, of Palmer Avenue, pleaded guilty July 6 to misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and attempted fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for having 44 oxycodone tablets when he was pulled over.
County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas sentenced Semrau to one year to be served concurrently on each of the two charges, as well as a $1,000 fine and a $375 surcharge. Semrau will also lose his driver’s license for six months and will be required to put an ignition interlock on his vehicle for six months when he is released from jail.
