LOCKPORT – A Lockport man who appeared to be attempting to break in to a convenience store in the 7000 block of Chestnut Ridge Road after 1 a.m. Monday was stopped and charged by Niagara County sheriff’s deputies after he was found in possession of pills and a filled hypodermic needle.
Adam S. Rathke, 25, of Ridge Road was charged with possession of controlled substance outside an original container, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic needle.
Deputies said they stopped Rathke when it appeared that he was attempting to pry open the front door at Scapellitti’s gas station/convenience store.
Deputies said they found him with a hollow flashlight which contained three orange pills wrapped in plastic, a silver spoon with burn marks, and found a hypodermic syringe at his feet containing some type of murky liquid.
