Rosary rally today
Immaculate Conception Church, 502 Oakwood Ave., East Aurora, will host a public rosary rally crusade today, beginning at 11:30 a.m. with prayers, followed by the rosary at noon.
Year of faith
Bishop Richard J. Malone will be principal celebrant for Mass at noon Sunday in Our Lady of Victory Basilica, South Park Avenue and Ridge Road in Lackawanna, to commemorate the opening of the “Year of Faith,” as proclaimed by Pope Benedict XVI.
More than 600 representatives from parishes throughout the diocese will attend the kick-off Mass to receive a special blessing and a “mission passport” on behalf of their parish.
The 10th annual Reformation Service, sponsored by Lutheran Campus Ministry on the Niagara Frontier, will be held at 4 p.m. Oct. 28 in First English Lutheran Church, 185 Locust St., Lockport. The Rev. Flavia Skilbred, pastor of First English, and Upstate New York Synod Bishop Marie Jerge will participate in the service. The message will be delivered by the Lutheran Campus pastor, the Rev. Steve Biegner, and Lutheran college students from area campuses.
Woodside Methodist Episcopal Church, South Buffalo’s oldest church, dating back to 1873, will rededicate its 101-year-old building at 675 Abbott Road during an 11 a.m. service on Sunday.
Vocalis opens season
Vocalis Chamber Choir opens its 2012-2013 concert season with a concert, “Poetic Projections,” at 8 p.m. today in St. Louis Church, 780 Main St. A second performance will be given at 7 p.m. Sunday in SS.
