LOCKPORT – A Town of Niagara man was sentenced Friday in State Supreme Court to Niagara County work camp and probation for his role in a March 7 burglary.
James E. Hebert Jr., 21, of Plaza Drive pleaded guilty to attempted third-degree burglary on June 19 and was sentenced Friday by State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. to 30 days in the Niagara County work camp, which will be served over a seven months, and five years probation. Hebert also was ordered to pay restitution of $2,268.
Hebert had admitted that he and a juvenile codefendant stole $5,040 from his aunt’s safe on March 7. Police said they recovered $912 when they arrested Hebert on March 12. The codefendant’s case was heard in Family Court.
