Linda Mirando of the Town of Tonawanda, an occupational therapist who dedicated her life to helping children, died Oct. 3 in Hospice Buffalo, Cheektowaga, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was 67.

Born Linda Felton in Buffalo, she earned a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University at Buffalo in 1968 and became a registered therapist. Her career began at E.J. Meyer Memorial Hospital, and she later worked at Erie County Medical Center.

Mrs. Mirando worked more than 30 years at Buffalo School 84 Health Care Center for Children at ECMC, helping children with disabilities.

Her interests included sewing.

Survivors include her husband, Peter, whom she met on a blind date; a daughter, Amy Walsh; a son, Joseph; and her mother, Martha Felton.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Tuesday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Town of Tonawanda.
