A Cheektowaga woman admitted stealing more than $17,000 from the Cayuga Heights Elementary School PTO while serving as its treasurer, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.

Susan Jablonski, 41, a former teacher at the Depew school, pleaded guilty to third-degree attempted grand larceny before Erie County Judge Thomas P. Francyzk.

Jablonski made unauthorized withdrawals from the bank account of the parent teacher organization while serving as treasurer from 2008 to 2010, according to District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III.

Jablonski spent the stolen money to cover personal expenses, the prosecutor said.

The Depew School District brought the matter to the attention of prosecutors.

She faces up to four years in prison when sentenced on Jan. 28.
