Kenmore East High School has several events planned for this weekend’s East-West football game. On Friday, Kenmore East will hold its Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony at 6 p.m. at Classics V Banquet Facility on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Amherst. The inductees are: James Badgley (1988), Robert Blamire ('71), Tom Haywood ('73), Mary Kosloski ('02), Coach Marv Matteson, William Neilson ('68), Chris Robey ('01), Nicholas Wheeler ('00), and Kristina Wilkins ('03).
The third annual Lou Reuter Memorial Scholarship Run will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday at Kenmore East High School, 350 Fries Road, Town of Tonawanda. There will be a 1-mile walk and 5K run. For details, go to signmeup.com. After the run, the East-West football game will be held at 2 p.m. at Sparky Adams Field. Following the game, a postgame party will be held at Caputi’s Pub on Sheridan Drive from 4:30-7 p.m. For $10, alumni will receive, pizza, wings, wine, beer and pop.
BASKETBALL: Former Hilbert College men’s basketball players from all eras will return to the Hafner Recreation Center for an alumni basketball game on Nov. 3 at 12:30 p.m. The game will precede the Hawks’ 3 p.m. exhibition game against Guelph University of Canada. Any former players interested in participating are encouraged to contact head men’s basketball coach Rob deGrandpre at 926-8803 or email@example.com by Oct. 29. … The Sean Scott Memorial Tournament will be held Nov. 9-11 at the Gloria J. Parks Community Center, 3242 Main St., Buffalo. There will be boys and girls divisions 10U, 12U and 14U. The cost is $175 per team.
