The University at Buffalo has been named one of the world’s top 200 universities by Times Higher Education World, a weekly magazine based in London.
UB is ranked 198th in the 2012-13 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, up from last year’s ranking among the 201 to 225 universities in the world. The data for the rankings was collected by Thomson Reuters, which reviewed about 700 institutions of higher learning in 69 countries around the world.
“Moving into the top 200 will enhance UB’s already strong reputation overseas and help us attract outstanding students from around the world,” said Stephen C. Dunnett, a UB professor and vice provost for international education. In the United States, UB consistently places in the top 20 universities in the country for international student enrollment.
