NIAGARA FALLS – A woman’s screams apparently scared off a group of burglars early Sunday, city police said.
The South Avenue resident told police she was awakened by noises coming from the area of her back door shortly after 4 a.m. When she yelled in that direction, the would-be burglars ran off.
Police later found that someone had broken the glass out of a rear door and entered a sunroom, then shut off some outside floodlights.
The intruders were unsuccessful in entering the main home, however, despite causing an estimated $400 damage to the doors, police said.
