Frost is expected in parts of southern Erie, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua and Allegany counties early Tuesday, the National Weather Service said this evening.

Temperatures are expected to drop into the lower 30s or upper 20s in Olean and Wellsville between 2 and 9 a.m., forecasters said, while Springville, Orchard Park and Jamestown will likely feel temperatures in the mid-30s during the early morning hours.

Residents of Genesee and Livingston counties should expect similar temperatures, officials said, and the temperatures and frost could damage or kill plants and other vegetation left uncovered outside.

Temperatures are expected to rise to the lower to mid-40s later in the day Tuesday and should remain higher throughout the week, forecasters said.
