A keynote speech by professional ironman triathlete Brendan Brazier and a presentation by Mark Kastel, co-director of the Cornucopia Institute, will be the highlights of the ninth annual World on Your Plate Food Forum Friday and Saturdayin the Wick Center at Daemen College, 4380 Main St., Snyder.
Brazier, whose 9 a.m. talk will kick off activities on Saturday, follows a diet that is completely plant-based and is one of the world’s leading authorities on plant-based nutrition.
Kastel has had a major role in creating sustainable farmer-owned businesses, focusing on dairy production and marketing.
Opening night features a 7 p.m. screening of “Farmageddon,” a documentary about the plight of the American family farm. The forum also includes a day of workshops for youth 10 to 16. The fee is $25 in advance, $30 at the door. For information and registration, visit www.worldonyourplate.org.
