A man driving 25 mph faster than the speed limit in Elma was arrested early today and charged with driving while intoxicated, state police said.
Michael J. Ford, 44, of East Aurora, was driving 70 mph in a 45-mph zone on Jamison Road when he was stopped by troopers about 3:20 a.m, troopers said.
After failing field sobriety tests, Ford was charged with DWI and taken to the State Police substation in Elma, where troopers said he recorded a blood-alcohol content of 0.16 percent, twice the legal limit. He will return to Elma Town Court on Oct. 25.
