Buffalo police homicide detectives continue to investigate two crimes that took the lives of young men over the weekend.
So far, no arrests have been made in the slayings – a stabbing which took place on the East Side late Friday, and a shooting that occurred on the West Side early Saturday.
Michael Ballard Jr., 22, died in Sisters Hospital after he was stabbed multiple times Friday night near the intersection of Woodlawn Avenue and Humboldt Parkway. Police said the incident happened about 11:30 p.m..
A 26-year-old man, whose name was still not being released tonight, was fatally shot about 5:30 a.m. Saturday in a house in the 200 block of Maryland Street. A number of people were in the house at the time, police said, while releasing no additional details.
Detectives are working on both crimes, police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge said, and anyone with information about either incident is asked to call the department’s confidential TIPCALL line at 847-2255. Information can also be texted to the same number.
