Repaving Fillmore Avenue is nearly complete, and Republic Street in the Old First Ward is up next.
Buffalo will likely have spent $10 million on repaving projects around the city this year when the construction season ends in three weeks, Mayor Byron W. Brown said Wednesday.
A $320,000 repaving of a 1.2-mile stretch of Fillmore Avenue, from North Parade Avenue to William Street, should be finished by today, said Public Works Commissioner Steven J. Stepniak.
In the spring, a $2.1 million streetscape project on Fillmore from North Parade to East Ferry Street will begin. The street is considered a gateway to Martin Luther King Park, where a new splash pad and reflecting pool are being installed in a wading pool basin. The new water feature hasnít opened yet.
