A Jamestown man was arrested Thursday after a vehicle pursuit through two communities and a short foot chase in the Town of Busti.
Adam J. Kidd, 31, initially was approached about 10 a.m. by Jamestown police on Winsor Street, after he allegedly smashed windows on a car in a Foote Avenue parking lot, authorities said.
Kidd, who was driving a sport utility vehicle, sped away from city officers, struck an unmarked city patrol vehicle on Frankin Street and drove out of the city with a multi-agency alert broadcast, police said. Lakewood-Busti police and state troopers set up stop sticks in Busti and disabled the SUV. Kidd fled on foot and was arrested in a field off Busti-Sugar Grove Road in Busti, authorities said.
Kidd was charged with several vehicle and traffic infractions, as well as unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment and obstructing governmental administration. He also likely will face additional charges, authorities said.
