WHEATFIELD – A Sanborn man, found to be driving with a blood-alcohol content nearly three times the legal limit, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated earlier this week when Niagara County sheriff’s deputies reported finding that he had a previous DWI conviction.
Deputies said they found a vehicle crashed onto a lawn in the northwest corner of Lockport and Eagle Chase roads about 8:30 p.m. Monday and said the driver, Zachery K. Barrand, 29, of Townline Road, appeared intoxicated.
Barrand registered a BAC of 0.22 percent, deputies said. They said he was found to have had a DWI conviction within the past 10 years and also was charged with violating the terms of a conditional license by operating a vehicle without an interlock device.
He was charged with felony DWI, aggravated DWI, and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle.
