Henry M. Suffoletto of Buffalo, a retired senior manager responsible for oversight of senior citizen housing for the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority, died Monday in Mercy Hospital. He was 81.
Born in Buffalo, he was a graduate of Boys Vocational High School. He served in the Army in Korea during the Korean War.
Mr. Suffoletto worked for the Municipal Housing Authority for 25 years. Until his retirement in 1995, he was responsible for oversight of LBJ Towers, Holling Homes, the Stuyvesant, the Msgr. Geary Apartments and the Frank Sedita Apartments.
He was a longtime member of the Boy Scouts and was active with Cub Scout Pack 336 and Boy Scout Troop 335. He served as a Scout leader, committee chairman and district commissioner. He earned the Silver Beaver Award in 1971. He also was a member of Francis A. Lombardo Post 1031, American Legion.
Mr. Suffoletto is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Annette Donaruma; a son, Thomas; a daughter, Sandra Ryan; and a brother, Albert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 1140 Abbott Road.
