A Williamsville man faces a maximum of 15 years in prison when he is sentenced Oct. 30 by Erie County Judge Michael D'Amico on drug and weapon charges, District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III reported Tuesday.
Harold E. Howard, 44, who has a previous felony conviction, was found guilty after a jury trial on charges of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Prosecutors said state police stopped Howard for not wearing a seat belt on Delaware Avenue in North Buffalo on Nov. 28, 2009, and found a loaded semi-automatic pistol and a quantity of crack cocaine in his rental car. Howard previously was convicted of first-degree attempted assault.
