JAMESTOWN - A Jamestown man pleaded not guilty in Chautauqua County Court and is being held on $200,000 bail on an eight-count child molesting indictment, the Jamestown Police Department reported Tuesday.
Following an investigation that began in August, a grand jury indicted Jason R. Alexander, 30, on two counts of predatory sexual assault against a child, two counts of sexual conduct against a child in the first-degree, a count of second-degree sexual conduct against a child and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
The Jamestown Police Department's juvenile victim's unit determined Alexander committed the offenses with more than one child over a 10-month period. Police investigators were assisted by the Chautauqua County District Attorney's Office, the county Department of Social Services and the Child Advocacy Program.
