A grain elevator lighting demonstration featuring themed image and video projection was held Tuesday evening on the Pool Elevator, adjacent to Gallagher Beach, as a prelude to a lighting extravaganza planned for 2013.
The test was conducted by Ambiances Design Productions of Montreal, along with Foit-Albert, companies contracted by Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. to replicate similar projects successful elsewhere in North America.
The projectors were loaned by Barco, a Belgium-based company that provides visualization and displays. Solotech, a Canadian company, provided the lighting equipment.
“Dramatically illuminating these elevators will further resurrect Buffalo’s history with a nod to our urban environment and industrial heritage, while drawing more people downtown, leading to private investment and helping realize Gov. Cuomo’s vision to revitalize Buffalo,” Lt. Gov. Robert Duffy said in a statement.
