A suspicious fire that destroyed a vacant house in Buffalo's Bailey-Walden area overnight spread next door, causing exposure damage to an occupied home, Buffalo fire officials reported Monday morning.
Firefighters responded to an 11:57 p.m. alarm Sunday night at 73 Wood Ave., four blocks east of Bailey Avenue, near Walden Avenue. The fire caused an estimated $20,000 damage to the vacant house and another $15,000 to the occupied home at 69 Wood.
City firefighters were called back to the scene shortly before 9 a.m. Monday to battle a rekindling at 69 Wood.
Fire officials have requested an emergency demolition for 73 Wood Ave.
