State police in Niagara County arrested a Sanborn man today on charges that he robbed a CVS drugstore of controlled substances earlier in the weekend.
Investigators charged Nicholas E. Patterson, 27, of Mount Hope Road, with first-degree robbery after they said he walked into the CVS Pharmacy on Saunders Settlement Road in Sanborn about 7:50 p.m. Friday, wearing a mask and demanding drugs.
Patterson was found at his home earlier today and tried to flee by running into a wooded area, troopers reported. They said he was taken into custody after a short foot chase and was found to be in possession of several controlled substances.
Aside from felony robbery charges, Patterson also was charged with misdemeanor drugs possession and resisting arrest.
