The City of Buffalo Arts Commission will hold a public meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Karpeles Museum (220 North St.). The Arts Commission will speak on its role, what it currently does, recent accomplishments and future plans. All are welcome.

Squeaky Wheel will present its "First Ever Members Show Screening" in October. All Squeaky members in good standing are invited to submit videos, installations, interactive and locative pieces, performances and other media art-based and ready to run works. Artwork dropoff and installation dates are from 1 to 6 p.m. Oct. 10 and 11 and from 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 12 and 13. Installation and performance proposals must be submitted by Tuesday. Electronic submissions of videos and proposals can be emailed to email@example.com with "Members Show Submission" in the subject line. Rocking Horse Productions will hold auditions for the January production of "Nunsense" at 7 p.m. Oct. 9 and 11 in the Lancaster Opera House (21 Central Ave., Lancaster). The Lancaster Opera House will hold auditions for actors ages 16 and up Oct. 21 and 22 for "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "Oklahoma!" Those auditioning only for "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" should prepare a Christmas song. Those auditioning for "Oklahoma!" should prepare a Rodgers and Hammerstein song. An accompanist will be provided. Also sought are dancers for a nonsinging ensemble in "Oklahoma!" A dance audition will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 23. Call the opera house to sign up. The Missoula Children's Theatre is seeking actors and actresses in grades K-12 to perform in the original musical, "Beauty Lou and the Country Beast."
Approximately 50 roles will be available. Group auditions will be held at 4 p.m. Oct. 15 in the Kenan Center Arena (195 Beattie Ave., Lockport). No previous stage experience is necessary. Children must be available for all required rehearsals and two performances. Students are also needed for positions as assistant directors. Two performances will be held at 3 and 7 p.m. Oct. 20 in the Lockport High School Visual and Performing Arts Center (250 Lincoln Ave., Lockport).
