An Amherst man was indicted by a federal grand jury Friday on charges of sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion, U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul Jr. said.
Kenneth Graham, 34, is accused of forcing a woman to engage in commercial sex acts against her will. The indictment also seeks that he forfeit $10,000, the proceeds from the illegal activity.
The charge carries a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years in prison, a maximum of life a $250,000 fine or both.
Hochul and Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert C. Moscati, who is handling the case, said the indictment is the result of an investigation by special agents of the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement unit and the Buffalo, Amherst and Cheektowaga police departments.
Graham is scheduled to be arraigned at 10 a.m. Friday before United States Magistrate Judge Hugh B. Scott.
