Amherst-based Sovran Self Storage has bought nine self-storage facilities for a combined price of $54.7 million.
The real estate investment trust said the properties are in markets where Sovran already has a presence. Four are in Atlanta, three are in Jacksonville, Fla., one is Raleigh, N.C., and one is in Chicago.
Each will be rebranded under the Uncle Bob's Self Storage name. The properties have more than 770,000 square feet.
Sovran said the acquisitions were funded through the company's at-the-market equity program, advances on its line of credit and operating cash flow.
