NIAGARA FALLS - The owner of a convenience store in the 900 block of Main Street told police Tuesday that someone forced their way into the store and took several days worth of cash receipts valued at $12,000, as well as lottery tickets, cigarettes and cigars.
The owner of Ray Mart said the break-in occurred sometime between 2:15 and 5:20 a.m. He said when he arrived he found the power out and a glass window shattered. A rock was found on the floor and officers found that a power meter had been damaged.
Several columns of lottery tickets were stolen as well as all the Newport cigarettes. A back room door was pried open and also stolen were 25 additional cartons of Newports worth about $2,300, $1,500 worth of White Cat cigars, and cash.
Total loss and damages were estimated at $15,800, police said.
