A former U.S. Postal Service carrier from the Southern Tier pleaded guilty in federal court Wednesday to theft of government funds.
Jennifer Moshier, 37, faces up to a year in prison, a fine of up to $100,000, or both when she returns for sentencing Jan. 9 before U.S. Magistrate Judge H. Kenneth Schroeder.
Between August 2009 and July 2011, Moshier, of Cuba, collected unemployment insurance benefits for which she was not entitled, prosecutors said. She failed to report income earned from three other employers in order to qualify for and illegally receive unemployment insurance benefits totalling $7,560.
