SHELDON - Four men and a 16-year-old juvenile were arrested by the Wyoming County Sheriff's Office Sunday, following a three-month investigation of burglaries at seasonal cabins on State Route 98.
The 16-year-old juvenile and three of the men were arrested in their homes along Route 98.
Joseph K. Spiritosanto, 44, alleged ring-leader of the operation, was charged in the County Jail, where he was being held on unrelated charges.
Spiritosanto, Keri L. Werbowski, 39, and Corey L. Allen, 18, were all charged with third-degree burglary. Spiritosanto also was charged with grand larceny, criminal trespassing and attempted petit larceny. Werbowski also was charged with criminal tampering of physical evidence, criminal mischief, petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, unlawfully dealing with a child and endangering the welfare of a child. Allen also was charged with criminal tampering with physical evidence, criminal trespass in the third-degree, petit larceny, criminal mischief in the fourth degree and unlawfully dealing with a minor.
All three are being held at the County Jail pending further court proceedings.
Brian D. Hastings, 18, and the 16-year-old juvenile were both charged with third-degree criminal trespassing and issued appearance tickets for Town Court proceedings Oct. 22.
The investigation, led by Deputy Colin Reagan and Sgt. Erik Tamol, also unearthed evidence of multiple underaged drinking parties in the burglarized cabins during the summer, sheriff's officials said.
