The Assistive Technology Expo, sponsored by Parent Network of Western New York, Early Childhood Direction Center and People Inc., will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 4 at Lucarelli's Banquet Center, 1830 Abbott Road, Lackawanna. Keynote speaker will be Jonathan Campbell, assistive technology specialist for Pacer Simon Technology Center in Minnesota. Featured will be local and national assistive technology vendors, panel discussion about new technology to enhance quality of life, and information regarding available scholarships. Allsup, a nationwide provider of services for those with disabilities, will host True Help Disability Web Expo, a virtual event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday designed to help anyone with disabilities and chronic illness chat with organizations offering information on a wide range of topics and programs. Experts in health and chronic conditions, disability rights and advocacy, Social Security Disability Insurance, veterans' disability, financial planning, Medicare and health insurance will provide educational sessions and screening services, answer questions and seek participant feedback during the live, one-day event.
